DAYTON ART INSTITUTE CO-SPONSOR: HOUSER ASPHALT & CONCRETE
For our final stop of the 2007-08 season, we return to First United Methodist Church of Troy and to the lovely Gothic Cloisters at The Dayton Art Institute. Repertoire from our early years, including works of Aaron Copland, Maurice Durufle, and George Shearing, plus spiritual arrangements of Moses Hogan, will be presented. Our friends in jazz, guitarist Jim Smith, and bassist, Michael Scharfe, will join us as we visit classic American popular songs, including Rt. 66, to conclude our trip down THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD!
Two outstanding regional high school choirs will join us for this final subscription concert. The Sydney High School Chamber Choir, under the direction of Amanda Hughes, will make a guest appearance on our April 19th Troy Concert. At the Dayton Art Institute concert, April 20th, we will be joined by the Beavercreek High School Chorale. We are pleased to feature choral work of these students and directors on these performances.
