AUDITIONS
MUSICA! welcomes auditions year-round. If you or someone you know is interested in auditioning, please call 937.229.3909 or email us through this website to schedule a specific audition time.
Auditioning singers should be prepared to:
Fill out a personal information form or bring a resume citing musical background including performing experience and education
Sing two solo selections, ONE of which should be in a foreign language (To make the best impression, these selections should be memorized!)
Sight- sing the appropriate vocal line in a simple four-part composition without piano
Vocalize to the highest and lowest reaches of your range
Reproduce pitch patterns played from the piano
An accompanist will be provided to rehearse with before the audition. Please be sure copies of the music provided the accompanist are in a readable format.
UNIFORMS
Singers are expected to purchase the concert dress of your gender.
GENTLEMEN wear tuxes with white shirts, black bow ties, cummerbund and shoes
WOMEN wear a black concert dress, but occasionally perform in mixed formal attire of the singer’s choice.
