our 2024-25 SEASON: “ENCOUNTERS”

MUSICA will offer three concerts of choral music under the theme of “Encounters” during our 2024-2025 season. Each concert,featuring classical choral as well as Broadway, Rock and World Music selections, will focus on encountering new music and new music collaborators. Our first concert “Dimensions Beyond” on October 27th was a wonderful success.

“Love Has Come”

Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 3 PM at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thruston Blvd. in Oakwood.

Our second, holiday-themed concert offers both sacred and secular works, with organ, harp and oboes. It will focus largely on American composers (including works by Will Todd, Kyle Pederson) with some classical works by Britten, Poulenc, Tchaikovsky and Vaughn-Williams as well.

“Metamorphosis”

Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 3 PM at Rose Theatre of the Dayton Art Institute, 456 Belmonte Park North in North Dayton.

Our final concert of the season features works from Monteverdi to the contemporary composer Eric Whitacre, not to mention Rodgers and Hammerstein. Given the lyrical nature of the program look for guitarists in both choral and solo selections!
